Today, we welcomed back two Watsessing alumni who were recently recognized among the Top 100 students in the graduating class at Bloomfield High School.

As they prepare to begin their college journeys, they shared advice and encouragement with our 4th–6th grade students about the importance of hard work, perseverance, and making the most of every opportunity. We are proud of their accomplishments and grateful they returned to inspire the next generation of Watsessing students. A big thank you to the Watsessing HSA for organizing our Father’s Day Pop-Up Sale! Our students had a wonderful opportunity to shop for the special fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures in their lives.

Congratulations to our incredible 3rd grade teachers and students for being recognized by the Bloomfield Board of Education this evening with a Certificate of Commendation for their outstanding work on the Black History Month Wax Museum: Juneteenth – Allyship in Action.

Through research, performance, and meaningful conversations, our students brought history to life while highlighting the importance of allyship, courage, and community. This special project showcased both academic excellence and a commitment to understanding the stories and contributions that have helped shape our nation.

We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our 3rd grade team for creating such a memorable and impactful learning experience.

🍉 Watermelon Estimation Challenge at Watsessing! 🍉

Our students put their estimation skills to the test today during the Watsessing Watermelon Estimation Challenge! Students carefully studied the watermelon and made their best guesses as to how many rubber bands it would take before the watermelon finally burst.

The excitement grew with each rubber band added, and after plenty of anticipation, the watermelon finally gave way at 670 rubber bands! 💥🍉

Activities like this help students practice critical thinking, estimation, and problem-solving while having fun together as a school community.

Great job to all of our students who participated and submitted a guess!
