I LOVE this reminder! β€οΈ But I think itβs important to remember that this doesnβt only apply to school-aged kiddos. It applies to our daycare kiddos too!
Daycare is often one of the very first places children learn how to be part of a group outside of their home. So many of the little things we practice every day are helping prepare them not only for school someday, but for life in general.
Things like:
β¨ Following directions and daily routines
β¨ Cleaning up after ourselves
β¨ Sharing and taking turns
β¨ Keeping our hands to ourselves
β¨ Sitting at the table for meals and snacks
β¨ Learning to wait patiently
β¨ Using our words to communicate
β¨ Respecting other children and adults
β¨ Learning that sometimes the answer is βnoβ
β¨ Becoming more independent with shoes, coats, handwashing, eating, and bathroom routines
β¨ Transitioning from one activity to another
β¨ Learning how to play and interact with other children
And just like teachers, daycare providers canβt do it alone either. β€οΈ When the expectations and routines weβre teaching at daycare are also being practiced and supported at home, it makes such a HUGE difference.
Parents, teachers and providers are a team. We both want the same thing: happy, confident kiddos who are learning, growing, and becoming a little more independent every day. π«ΆπΌ
Parents,
Please remember that teachers are raising minds, not replacing parents.
Discipline, respect, honesty and good manners begin at home.
When children see parents and teachers working together, everyone winsβ
especially the child. π€
