Huge congratulations to BHHS sophomore Lillian Tang for being named the 2026 Sutton Foster Award winner, recognizing her as Michigan’s top female high school musical theater performer! Based on the adjudication by SFA judges who attended the BHHS 2025 Fall musical, "The Hello Girls", Tang, as well as another leading actor, Lily Novestky, received nominations to attend the annual SFA workshop, audition, and showcase at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts in East Lansing, MI.
After an outstanding showing of singing, dancing, acting, and stage presence, Tang will now represent Michigan at the prestigious Jimmy Awards in New York this June. Wishing her the best of luck on the national stage! 👏🎭🌟

Lone Pine Elementary staff kicked off the month of June with an Underground Spirit Week🦁 ❤️ ! On Monday, many students didn’t notice that teachers were dressed head-to-toe in one color for “Monochromatic Day,” but by Tuesday they definitely picked up on “Tired Teacher Day” when the adults showed up in pajamas! On Wednesday, staff wore college gear from their own alma maters, while Thursday was full of silly hats. The week ended with a burst of school spirit and Lone Pine tees on Friday. What a fun week at Lone Pine!

🎓👏 Our graduating seniors started a new tradition today, returning to their elementary schools for an energetic and emotional clap-out. They walked the halls, reminiscing their elementary years while getting hi-fives from younger learners and hugs from former teachers. The younger students' joyful excitement matched the nostalgic smiles from the soon-to-be graduates. It was a beautiful send-off honoring the students’ past, present, and future! 💜

There are an estimated 393 million civilian-owned fi****ms in the United States, and more than one-third of homes contain at least one gun. Responsible gun owners can make our homes and
communities safer by storing their fi****ms unloaded and locked, with ammunition kept in a separate place, to prevent access by children and other people who are at risk of harming themselves or others. Research shows that these storage practices can play a vital role in reducing the risk of gun violence, particularly among children, due to unintentional shootings and gun suicides.
Not only is it SMART, it is also the law in Michigan. The law applies to all Michigan residents who own fi****ms. It’s crucial to secure your guns whenever a minor (under 18) is likely to be present in your home, even if they are visiting. This requirement extends to residents and individuals carrying fi****ms who enter locations where minors may be present. Under the law, there are two main options for safely storing fi****ms: unloaded and secured with a locking device or stored in a locked container.
