Birmingham Public Schools is looking for caring, energetic team members to support our students before and after school!

✨ Current openings include:
• 2 Student Program Coordinators – Beverly & Pembroke | 11:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• AM/PM Assistants – Beverly, Bingham Farms & West Maple
• AM Assistant – BCS | 7:00–8:45 a.m.
• AM & PM Floaters – Support programs across the district
• High School Students (age 17+) – We’re looking for students to join our teams, especially those available Tuesday–Thursday and on half days!

Whether you’re looking for morning hours, afternoons, or a great part-time opportunity while you’re in high school, we’d love to have you join our SACC team!

Please join us in welcoming Karen Smith as the new Secretary to the Principal at West Maple Elementary!

Karen is excited to support Principal Pez and the entire West Maple community, helping make each day a great experience for students, staff, and families.

A few fun facts about Karen:
👀 She has heterochromia—one blue eye and one that’s half blue and half green! Fewer than 1% of people have this unique trait.
📅 Color-coding her calendar and checking off her to-do list brings her incredible joy.
🎉 She’s always ready for a school spirit day and proudly dresses up for every single one!

When asked what excites her most about joining BPS, Karen shared:

“I am super excited to join the BPS community in a school that is my happy place where wolf packs are an actual thing, not just my personality. I look forward to supporting the students, staff, and families and continuing to make BPS and West Maple the amazing place it is.”

Registration Opens August 1 for BPS School Age Child Care!

Looking for a safe, fun, and engaging place for your child before and after school? Birmingham Public Schools’ School Age Child Care (SACC) program is now enrolling for the 2026–2027 school year!

🗓 Registration Opens: Saturday, August 1 at 8:00 a.m.
📍 Online registration begins at 8 a.m. (Applications will be reviewed starting Monday, August 3, when the SACC office reopens.)

SACC serves students in Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade and offers:
⭐ Before school care: 7:00 a.m. until the first bell
⭐ After school care: Dismissal until 6:00 p.m.
⭐ Caring, highly trained staff
⭐ Arts & crafts, games, gym time, outdoor play, and more
⭐ Discounted full-week rates
⭐ Pre-approved drop-in care (as space allows)
