You may have noticed the etching from the September 11 Memorial while walking through the ground floor of Academy of the Sacred Heart. It stands as a daily reminder of both loss and love.
At Sacred Heart, Suzanneโs Nest is the name of our infant classroom, where our youngest and most vulnerable students begin their journey of growing, learning, and loving each day. On this day of remembrance, as we honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, our hearts carry a special weight for Suzanne Kondratenko, an alumna of the Class of 1992, who lost her life while helping others in the World Trade Center. Suzanneโs Nest bears her name in tribute, a reflection of the courage and care she showed that day, including assisting an expectant mother in need.
The babies from the very first Suzanneโs Nest class are now teenagers. Time moves forward, but our promise remains steadfast: We will never forget. โค๏ธ
