Bloomfield Christian School

Bloomfield Christian School BCS is Michigan's only ACCS accredited JK-12 private classical Christian school, located in Bloomfield Hills.

Bloomfield Christian School had its inception in 1993 as Christian Leadership Academy as five mothers met to pray for God’s leading in starting a Christian school. That first year and a half was spent in prayer and preparation as schools were visited from Virginia to Texas to Idaho. In September of 1994, Christian Leadership Academy opened its doors to eight students. By the end of the year, there

were thirteen students in five different grades. In 1996 CLA began to add the secondary program and graduated its first class in 2000. In 2013 the school moved to its current facility on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills. Subsequently, the name was changed to Bloomfield Christian School in January 2015. BCS strives to operate as a servant to the family under the assumption that the education of young people is the responsibility of parents and the immediate family rather than that of the State. BCS provides a Biblical-based curriculum and teaches subjects as parts of an integrated whole, with the Scriptures at the center. In conjunction with the biblical emphasis, BCS follows a classical and Christian educational model as described in the following books and articles: The Lost Tools of Learning, by Dorothy Sayers; Repairing The Ruins, edited by Doug Wilson; The Seven Laws of Teaching, by John Gregory; and Recovering The Lost Tools of Learning, by Doug Wilson. Please view our list of Resources on classical and Christian education as well as the video link to learn more. Although academics have always been the main emphasis at BCS, an extramural sports program was started in 2001 and continues to grow. BCS now supports basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country, baseball and golf teams, as well as an active House Council.

Great books give us something worth thinking about and something worth talking about.

📚 BCS families: What great book has stayed with you long after you finished reading it?

It begins with wonder.

A question. A beautiful idea. A story that makes a child want to know more.

At BCS, education isn’t simply about accumulating information. We want our students to become curious about God’s world and eager to pursue what is true, good and beautiful within it.

In 9 days, we begin again.

In two weeks, these halls will sound very different.

Soon, they’ll be filled with questions and conversation, laughter and song, prayer and learning. Our teachers are preparing more than classrooms for the year ahead.

They’re preparing to welcome students back into a community devoted to pursuing what is true, good, and beautiful — and pointing them toward Christ in all of it.

We can’t wait to fill these halls again. 🤍

What is an education for?

At BCS, we believe the answer is bigger than good grades, college acceptance or career preparation. We want our students to grow into young men and women who can think carefully, communicate clearly, recognize what is true, love what is good and appreciate what is beautiful—all while growing in their knowledge and love of Christ.

That work happens slowly, intentionally and day after day. And it’s the work we’re grateful to partner with our families in doing.

The season starts long before the first scoreboard lights up.

It starts here — with practice, repetition, teamwork, perseverance and learning to keep going when something is hard.

At BCS, athletics are another opportunity to form character. To compete with excellence, lead with humility and honor Christ in the way we play.

Defenders, we’re cheering you on. Let’s have a great season! ❤️🤍💙

Congratulations to Evan Partyka, our 2025-26 Boys' Varsity Small School Baseball National Pitcher of the Year!

Evan averaged a 0.16 ERA, and totaled 121 strikeouts - which resulted in a standout 7.6 strikeouts per BB.

He finished with an 8-2 pitching record.

Evan has been a standout athlete at Bloomfield Christian, not only for his elite baseball skills, but also his character. He performed as the ace of the BCS pitching staff, and is a leader by example on and off the mound.

His humility, positivity, and consistency impacts his teammates and coaches, and we are extremely proud of Evan for receiving this award.

Over the course of 43.1 innings, Evan set school records in the following statistics: - lowest earned runs (1) - lowest ERA (0.160), lowest BAA (.096), and most strikeouts (121).

Most importantly, Evan led BCS to their 4th state title in 5 years, winning the MACS State Championship. His national recognition is another example of his incredible contribution to BCS athletics.

Congrats again, Evan, and we're praying that you continue to pursue the Lord in all you do, on and off the field!
