Roeper's Head of School Anne Glass recently shared her back-to-school advice with Parents, alongside educators from across the country. Her pick for an essential that doesn’t cost a thing? A library card, which she calls a “passport to endless curiosity.”

And what can parents skip? Trendy organizational gadgets and oversized supply kits. As Anne told Parents, “Every child approaches learning differently, and there’s no one organizational system that works for everyone.”

Our Head of School Anne Glass recently spent time at Stanford University for the annual . The Roeper School is a founding member of this select group of independent schools by the Malone Family Foundation.

The summit brings together top independent school leaders from a select group of schools (48 in total across the nation) recognized for their superior support of gifted learners to share strategies on academic excellence and institutional innovation. Professors at Stanford presented on generative AI in education and our world, the changing lifespan of education, and significant existential questions in independent school education. For Anne, it was an invaluable opportunity to collaborate in person with executive peers, exchange leadership insights and help shape the future of our programming.

We are so proud to have Anne representing The Roeper School on the national stage and bringing fresh, forward-thinking perspectives back to our campus!

We are excited to share that Roeper Campus Directors Cynthia Harris and Susannah Nichols will embark on a new professional development journey throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

They are participating in an Association of Independent Michigan Schools - AIMS Leadership Development Program, "The Division Director’s Playbook: Strategies for Leading People and Culture," led by Garet Libbey, a certified executive leadership coach with over 25 years in education.

We look forward to the strategies Cynthia and Susannah will bring back to our community!

Last month, we held the annual Lower School Walk-a-thon, and it was a joyful walk for change!👟

Students participated to raise funds and walk in support of COTS and Stitches in Service, an inspiring blanket-making project that benefits Alternatives For Girls.
