Marian alums, save these dates! 💙💛

There are plenty of opportunities to come back to Marian, reconnect with classmates, and be part of the traditions and events happening throughout the year.

First up: Senior Football! 🏈
Join us on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Tech as the Class of 2027 takes on Regina. Marian is hosting this year, and we’d love to fill the stands with alumnae cheering on our Mustangs!

Can’t make the game? You can still join the fun by sending a short vertical video message with words of encouragement, a favorite Senior Football memory, or a simple “Go Mustangs!” Send videos to [email protected] by Sept. 7.

Marian will always be part of your story. We hope you’ll come back and be part of ours this year!

There’s a special story behind the name greeting everyone along the drive into Marian this school year. 💙💛

For 2026-27, the drive has been named Nadine’s Way in memory of Nadine Kassab Bashi ’74, whose connection to Marian began as a student more than 50 years ago and continued throughout her life. Her love for Marian became part of a family legacy that now spans generations.

Made possible by her family, including Yasmine Kassab Najor ’98, Natasha Petrous Baccari ’01, and Maddie Najor ’26, Nadine’s Way honors Nadine’s life, her Marian spirit, and the lasting influence she had on those who knew and loved her.

💙 ALUMS MAKING NEWS 💛

Congratulations to Trina Govan Scott ’91, who has been unanimously appointed chair of the Oakland University Board of Trustees!

A longtime member of the Oakland University community, Trina is in the sixth year of her eight-year term on the Board and previously served as vice chair. In her new role, she will help lead the Board’s work supporting student success and advancing the university’s future.

Trina’s commitment to leadership and service extends throughout the community, including board service with Inforum Michigan, the International Women’s Forum, the American Cancer Society of Michigan, and First Tee of Greater Detroit.

We’re always proud to see a Marian alum making news and making an impact!

Marian joins the IHM Sisters in celebrating two Jubilarians with special connections to our school.

Sister Lenore Pochelski, IHM, who served Marian for 31 years and left a lasting mark on generations of students, is celebrating 60 years as an IHM Sister.

Sister Maxine Kollasch, IHM, president of the IHM Sisters Leadership Council, is celebrating 25 years as an IHM Sister.

Sister Lenore and Sister Maxine were among 20 IHM Sisters honored during this weekend’s Jubilee festivities, representing a combined 1,011 years of ministry.
