I**** Owner Reclaimed ****was contacted over the weekend of a German Shepherd and a Bassett Hound and a Husky and a black dog and a red Pit running around Bloomburg.
They are being spotted behind Bloomburg Bank on that side of town.
I found the Bassett Hound....and picked him up, this morning. Not his first time to be picked up by Bloomburg Animal Control. Probably will not be his last time either.
Reclaim fee and Rabies vaccination due within 10 business days and a written warning for dog running at large.
Citation will be issued if he is caught ral again.

Someone dumped a mama dog and 6 puppies on Hurt Road. They was seen at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
I will give $200 for anyone that knows the person that dumped them.

This poor, neglected and abused Rottweiler was found on 1st. Street. June 17th.
He was an senior dog.He had a piece of electrical wire around his back leg. Vet said probably been that way for a week.
There is no reason at all to treat any animal this way. He did not get this skinny in a few days. He had hundred of fleas all over him. His gums was pale, his front teeth was worn down to nothing.
Poor guy is no longer suffering and probably resting at the feet of Jesus now. All dogs go to heaven.
Some dog downers just do not need a dog in their life.

Rottweiler on 2nd. Street getting into trash and almost getting hit by cars. The caller said dog is skinny and shy.
Caller said dog has been running around in the area for a week now.
I will try to catch the dog this afternoon.

Crossing the highway numerous times.
A citizen walked the neighborhood, trying to find the owner. But she had no luck.

Having complaints with some dogs running around the neighborhood.
The dogs are getting into people's trash cans and tearing into the garbage bags. And these dog's are not cleaning up their mess. Leaving trash all over the ground.
This group of dogs includes ; German Shepherd, Poodle, Bassett Hound, a couple of black dogs , yellow Lab, Husky , and a couple of tan/brown dogs.
I drove around Thursday afternoon and wanted to find these dogs and interview them. Here is how the interview went. Straight from the dog's mouth.
I asked the dogs, if these allegations are true?
The dog's reply:: Ms. dog catcher ..... we are dogs, we like to go visit our dog friends. Our nose is outstanding. We really smell some really good food in those trash cans. We really love the home owner, that just leaves their trash bags on the ground. They are super easy to tear up.
These dog's spilled the beans to me. The dog's told me each one of them have a job to do.... while out running the streets.
Job duties.... one dog is the Look Out dog....look out for home owner to come out and yell at us.Some have even shot at us with a gun.
Look out for vehicles driving down the street. The dog's said humans drive fast on these streets. That can be dangerous for us dog's. My response was let's not change the subject from dog's to humans.
Another Look out job duty..... Look out for the dog catcher.The dog's said she can be sneaky, her vehicle is quite . She has snuck up on us before. The dog's said ...when that happens. ALL Fun stops and each dog is on their own.... Code Red..... Run for home sweet home.
I asked these K'9's why run from me? I have good treats, good cold air in my vehicle. The dogs reply was.... correct good treats and good ac. But you do not tell us, that you are taking us to doggy jail.
And that place has no ac and we are locked behind bars. Like we are criminals. Then you have to contact our human owner. They are not happy that they have to pay a Reclaim fee, to get us out of jail.
Then our human owner gives us a speech, on the way home. Saying it is our fault for getting caught. Then they tell us that they are not sure we are worth the reclaim
The dog's commented....they do not understand why their human owners are upset with them. When the dogs get back to home sweet home. Our humane owners do not try to keep us at home . Nothing changes , Make that make sense...Ms.dog catcher..
The dog's said : Ms. Dog Catcher please do not get mad at us. We are just doing what dogs do.We will be seeing you on the streets real soon. Unless our human owners, do better at keeping us confined to our yard.
I told the dogs Citations will start being written. And that may encourage the owner to do better.
Please dog owners.... keep your dog's confined to your yard at all times.
I know I made this post cute and funny. But a citation will not be funny.

Reclaim Fee and Boarding Fee will have to be paid. IF dog is not Reclaimed within 72 hours. The dog will be put up for adoption.
The dog owner will be notified. This is not the First time this dog has been picked up by Bloomburg Animal Control Service.
I went and talked to the dog owner on March the 6th.about the complaints, about this dog ral around the neighborhood.
Just because ( IF) the dog technically lives in the County .....does not give the dog a free pass to run at large in the city. I have explained that situation more than once.
So here we are.... I do not like to charge the Reclaim fee and boarding fee. But sometimes I am made to do this. Because some dog owners , believe the City Ordinance does not apply to them.

Hey Bloomburg citizens.... I know some of you do not like or try to follow the Bloomburg Animal Control Ordinance.... especially the part about No Dogs can be Running At Large ( RAL) around town.
I get it is Bloomburg Texas..... some people embrace the City Ordinance on dogs not RAL. But many people think it is a joke or nonsense. And just not going to follow the rules.
The people that remember all the dogs running all over Bloomburg 6 or7 years ago. Heck it dates back to 15 years ago.We do not have that big of an issue now. But there are a handful that either wants to open their door and let Fido go meet and greet the neighbors. All dogs must be tehether or confined to your yard by a fence or tether system. If you are out walking your dog must be on a leash, at all times.
Rabies Vaccinations is a Texas State Law.... it has to be done once a year. Must be given by a Texas licensed veterinarian. Some counties / veterinarians will give a 3 year Rabies vaccination.
This is 2026 and this City Ordinance has been revised 2021 or 2022. So I will start enforcing the State Rabies Law. Queen City did have a skunk test positive for rabies in 2024. I will be asking to see your rabies vaccination certificate, that you get from the veterinarian.
These 2 dogs was out for their morning stroll this morning 2/13/26 at 7:30 I will be contacting their owners.
