Each year, the Texas Education Agency issues accountability ratings to public school districts and campuses across the state.

The TEA rating system is designed to provide parents, educators, and community members with a clear view of how well our schools are serving students. It evaluates academic performance, student growth, and post-secondary readiness to ensure all students are progressing toward success.
TEA evaluates districts across three key areas, called "Domains":

Student Achievement: Evaluates what students know and can do at the end of the school year, measured by STAAR test performance, graduation rates, and College, Career, and Military Readiness indicators.
School Progress: Measures how students perform over time—comparing academic growth from year to year and evaluating our performance relative to similar school districts.
Closing the Gaps: Focuses on student performance among specific student groups to ensure equitable educational opportunities.

Blanco ISD earned an overall "B" rating (Score: 81) on the 2026 Accountability Report.

Every year, the state evaluates how our scores stack up against 40 similar campuses statewide. Earning a distinction means a school performed in the top quarter of its comparison group! We are excited to announce that 2 of our campuses earned distinctions.

Blanco High School earned 5 Distinction Designations:

Academic Achievement in Social Studies
Top 25%: Comparative Academic Growth

Blanco Elementary School earned 1 Distinction Designation:

TEA has released the state’s school financial accountability ratings through the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), and Blanco ISD received a perfect score of 100 out of 100, earning an A — “Superior Achievement” rating for the 2024–2025 school year. The FIRST rating system is designed to ensure that Texas public schools are held accountable for sound financial management practices and continuously improve those practices. It encourages districts to effectively manage their financial resources and maximize the funds available for direct instructional purposes.

Huge thanks to Ally Medical for stopping by our admin office with a wonderful gift basket to welcome us into the new school year! 🎒✨

To share the love, we put all of our new hire names into a spin wheel for a surprise giveaway. Congratulations to Tandy Gates, BES Kindergarten Teacher, who was our lucky winner! 🏆
