Guidelines for Engaging with ECSS Social Media
We will update social media pages as often as possible to share news about Early County School System (ECSS) and the achievements of the students and staff as well as other relevant information for ECSS. In times of inclement weather that necessitate school closing or other school-related emergencies, the pages will be updated in conjunction with th
e alerting of local media. ECSS welcomes a personβs right to express his or her opinion and encourages commenters to keep comments relevant to the topic in question. All comments posted on ECSS social media pages are at the discretion of the page administrators. The page administrators will review postings to make sure they do not violate these guidelines and privacy laws. People making comments on the pages are requested to show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil, especially since social media platforms allow individuals 13 years of age and older to join. Remember that your name and photo will be seen next to your comment, visible to anyone who visits the page. ECSS reserves the right to remove from public view the following types of posted comments; if a user comment is deleted, ECSS will retain a copy in its files:
Comments that contain vulgar language. Obscene, pornographic, or other illegal materials. Sexual comments about or directed to anyone. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, genetics, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability, or sexual orientation. Spam or unrelated links to other sites. Comments that are unrelated to the ECSS topic that is the subject of the post. If you have a question to ask on a different topic, please contact us via email. It is always best to start with the person most involved with your topic (classroom teacher, building principal, etc.). Comments that advocate illegal activity, encourage violence, or contain threats. Comments that promote particular non-ECSS services or products. Comments that infringe on copyrights or trademarks. Comments that disclose personally identifiable information that may compromise an individualβs financial or personal security, including social security numbers, passwords, credit card information, and personal contact information. Comments that contain information that may compromise the safety, security, or proceedings of public systems (and their employees) or any criminal or civil investigations. Comments that mock, criticize, denigrate, impugn, degrade, or in any way disparage any ECSS student or employee. ECSS may block or ban a commenter, if the social media platform permits, who repeatedly posts inappropriate content and deny that commenter the opportunity to use the limited public forum. All statements and viewpoints expressed in the comments are strictly those of the commenter alone, and do not constitute an official position of ECSS unless they are posted by the original author (who is an authorized representative of ECSS) or by a subject matter expert responding on behalf of ECSS. All ECSS social media sites will adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances, including, but not limited to, legal requirements governing use of copyrighted materials, retention of records, compliance with the Georgia Open Records Act, and federal and state privacy laws. π IMPORTANT GRADUATION INFORMATION π
Due to ongoing rain and saturated field conditions, graduation will be held indoors this year in the Tommy Whitehurst Gym on Saturday, May 16th. While we are not expecting extreme weather, the field is simply too soggy to safely set up the stage and seating.
π Ceremony begins: 9:00 AM sharp
πͺ Doors open: 7:30 AM
π Doors lock: 8:55 AM (please plan to arrive early)
ποΈ Each student will receive 12 gold tickets for family and friends to attend graduation in the gym. Tickets will be distributed during graduation practice on Friday. EVERYONE ENTERING THE GYMβincluding infantsβMUST HAVE A TICKET.
π₯ To help accommodate additional family and friends, we will also livestream the graduation ceremony in the Mangham Auditorium, located directly next to the Tommy Whitehurst Gymnasium. Because of this added viewing location, each senior will receive an additional 4 tickets (specifically colored blue) for the Mangham Auditorium. The same entry times and rules will apply to the auditorium, including ticket requirements for all guests. We hope this will allow even more loved ones the opportunity to celebrate and support the Class of 2026 on this special day.
To maintain a respectful environment, please remember that no props (noisemakers, balloons, large signs, cutouts, etc.) will be allowed in the gym. This ensures every graduateβs name can be heard and all guests have a clear view. Thank you for helping us celebrate each student equally.
We know this isnβt the setup many had imagined, but our focus remains on celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of the Class of 2026. Thank you for your flexibility and support! ππΎ
