Progress is being made today! In the attached photos you can see the truss installation has begun, and in the last photo you can see part of the ceiling installed. We hope to have this extension to the acoustic room finished and ready to open up by the end of this week!

An update on the expansion/remodel at Paradise Music:
We're about 95% done with the exposed truss ceiling for the acoustic room. Crossing our fingers and hoping that by tomorrow noon we'll have at least part of the ceiling up. We will post pictures! BTW, Paradise Music will be open regular hours on Labor Day.

So here's what's happening today. The beams that are on the floor now, (photo 1), will go up here when they're done (photo 2). I've always wanted to do an acoustic room like this and now I have my chance. If we do as well tomorrow as we did today before the heat got so extreme that we had to quit, at least some of these beams will be hanging. They're heavy, so it's going to be interesting!

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the positive feedback about the expansion and remodel currently going on at Paradise Music. We're excited about it and are happy that y'all are as well!
We have another thing to be excited about, and thats the 6th annual anniversary bash happening on Saturday, Octobr 3rd, 2026, beginning at 10am. For those of you that have attended one or more of our celebration days, it will be similar to previous years. For those of you that haven't attended, here's what's going to be happening:

Free Food: Snacks and drinks will be available; cookies coffee, sodas, water. For those that want lunch, 828 Cafe will have their food truck on the premises. Great food, very reasonable priced.

Special guests: Every 30 minutes or so a new special guest will take the stage. For more info on the special guests, please message Paradise Music or B.C. Loy on Facebook or Instagram for a complete listing of our special guests. There will be lots!

Give away drawings: So far this year, we have been donated t'shirts, straps, gift certificates, effects pedals and guitars. These will drawn from our registration box, so come by Paradise Music and put your name, email and phone number on the paper and put it in the box. Only one price per person, please.

We're going to have some sales reps from some of the companies that we do business with, Roy Rogers from Peavey, and John Kelly, owner of MISC, who distributes many of the brands we carry, Seagull, Schecter, Larrivee and many more. He'll be showing some of these products that will be available for purchase.

Last but not least: Every darn thing in the store will be 25% off this one day! Sale items must be taken that day, no layaways, no trades. Save your Confederate dollars, and save yourself some money! We got the gear, and we're gonna move it out!

Looking forward to seeing you on the 3rd, activities begin at 10am!

Well, today we got serious on the trusses for the ceiling in the acoustic room. We're building an exposed beam open ceiling tapering from 12' to 10'. They're running 24 feet across. I've never done any of this before, so it's been a learning experience and trust me, it's not over by any stretch! Thanks to Nathan Jenkins for his help on this project. He works like I do, goes at it like fighting fire! We''ll knock this out in another day or 2, and pictures will be posted. Trust me, if I can get this thing to look in reality like it does in my head, I'm gonna be some kind of proud fellow. Stay tuned!

Well, the slatwall is going up, the ceiling trusses will be build and installed this week, the carpet layers have been met with, things are going forward! No pictures today, but I'll have some up pretty soon. 5000 square feet of retail space makes us the largest music store between Ashville and Gainsville! I hope that makes you excited, because it sure does us!

Some days it seems like you work like a dog and don't get anything done, because you're doing prep work or something that doesn't show up in pictures. Today is not one of those days!
Today we got about 95% of the insulation up on the walls that will be the expanded acoustic room! Got you some good photos too. I don't know if we're gonna get it done but our Anniversary Bash on October 3rd, but we're sure as heck gonna try!

I don't have a lot of new work to show you since we last posted, not because we haven't worked on it, cause we sure have, but the work we've done doesn't look very significant, although it is. We've starter the rough wiring, installed the outlet boxes, gathered up all the scrap lumber laying around, pulled all the nails out of it all and stacked up all the plywood and lumber that is re-useable and swept the floor. Waste not, want not, lumber is expensive!
Tomorrow we will be doing lots of different things, insulating the acoustic room, and we should be getting some slatwall up tomorrow as well. I'll have updated pictures of all that's happening by tomorrow afternoon.
It's a good thing we work well under pressure, cause we have our annual Anniversary Bash and the open house showing on Oct. 3rd! We've gotta get busy! See less

Paradise Music has been in business since April Fool's Day, 1984. That humor is not wasted on me! Since that time, we have been in continuous business for over 40 years, except for short breaks during relocation from Tennessee to North Carolina.
We are currently in the midst of a huge expansion that will increase our retail and teaching space to 5,000 sq. ft, and for the first time ever we have a on location warehouse and and actual office! To say that we are excited doesn't begin to describe the immense satisfaction that I, along with my lovely bride of almost 16 years are experiencing. I"m not giving myself the credit, I look up every day and give God the glory for the things he has allowed us to accomplish.
I have been keeping everyone posted about the progress as it unfolds, and this has been a busy project. Our yearly anniversary bash is coming up on October 3 this year, and unless unforeseen things happen, we will be ready. We do hope you will plan on spending the day with us then, there will be lots of special guests throughout the day, lots of giveaways and drawings for merchandise, tours of the new store and as usual, everything will be 25% off!
