This morning during student drop-off, a fire alarm was activated at Union County High School. The Union County Fire Department responded immediately and thoroughly checked the building.

The situation has been cleared, and all students and staff are safe. We appreciate the quick response of our local first responders and the cooperation of our students and staff.

The 11th Annual Backpack 2 School Bash is underway! Over 500 students are now getting ready for the new school year! Thank you to all of the volunteers and sponsors. It couldn’t have happened without the amazing support of our community!!

Today was a great day as we officially welcomed back our incredible Union County Schools teachers and staff for a new school year!

A huge thank you to River City Bank for providing a wonderful Chick-fil-A breakfast to help us kick off the day. We also appreciate Kevin Atlas for sharing an inspiring message that challenged us to make a difference in the lives of every student we serve.

We are excited for an amazing year ahead as we continue working together for Success for ALL!

As we begin a new school year, we want to recognize the incredible coaches, band directors, and athletic trainers at Union County High School, Union County Middle School, and Woody Gap Schools!

The hours you invest go far beyond practices, games, wins, and losses. You mentor, encourage, teach life lessons, and make a lasting impact on our student athletes.

Thank you for your dedication, your sacrifice, and the countless hours you give to our students and our schools. We appreciate all you do and wish you an outstanding season!

Union County Schools partnered with local first responders and school leaders for a tabletop emergency response exercise designed to strengthen coordination, communication, and preparedness in the event of an emergency.

Thank you to the Union County Sheriff's Office, Blairsville Police Department, Union County Fire Department, Union County 911, Union County Emergency Management, and the Union County Schools Police Department for their commitment to keeping our schools safe!
