This week was full of excitement as we rejoiced in our reunion with old friends, connected with new, and “oohed and aaed” over the new spaces at school. Our learners were eager to jump right in! We have four weeks left to Build the Tribe, and yet, Spark has almost completed their contract for the year! It is a privilege to watch these young people take so much ownership in all they cherish at school!

There’s something special about coming back to school and realizing that a new year means a new beginning. New learners are welcomed, old friendships grow deeper, and together, we begin the work of building a tribe.

At Acton, we believe a tribe isn’t simply a group of people who share a space. It’s a community built on promises—to show up, to take responsibility, to encourage one another, and to choose to be extraordinary together.

We’ve been having a wonderful summer, and using the time to carefully and intentionally set up our spaces and studios for the’26/‘27 school year…! However we have officially entered the “can’t wait to get the learners back” phase of summer. In less than two weeks our campus will be full of laughter, joyful shouts, and learning once more:)

At Acton, we believe grit isn’t about never struggling, it’s about choosing to keep going when the path gets hard.

Our learners are given the freedom to wrestle with challenges, make mistakes, get uncomfortable, and try again. We don’t rush in to make things easier for them. Instead, we create space for them to discover that the struggle itself can be part of the learning.

Because confidence isn’t built by always getting it right. It’s built by realizing, “I can figure this out.”

Every challenge conquered, every failure learned from, and every moment they choose to try one more time is another small piece of the person they are becoming.

At Acton, we aren’t just preparing learners to succeed when things are easy. We’re helping them build the grit to keep moving when they’re not. 💪🌱
