This Wednesday, I had my cardiology appointment and my echocardiogram.

Lately, the health of my heart has thankfully been increasing, and I am pleased to announce that it is just as stable as it was in January!

I used to dread going to the cardiologist because I knew it always ended in discussions about surgery, my future, and the impeding doom my body faced.

I am grateful for the advancements in technologies that have allowed me to he able to now be 25 (which no one expected) and to not only be 25, but 25 and for the most part, healthy.

On Saturday, I had the honor and pleasure to speak at UAlbany about how having a disability can impact one's mental health.

During the presentation, I discussed topics such as medical gaslighting from doctors, linging trauma from COVID, and struggling with finances. These are all issues that are important to not only myself who went through these struggles, but countless other disabled people.

It was great to also talk about the lessons I learned about managing my Mental Health, as well as share tips to be an ally or support peers or patients with mental health struggles.

I want to thank for inviting me and allowing me to have this platform where I can help make the world a better place.

Happy Pride, Everyone! 🏳️‍🌈

Pride comes in many forms and many paths of self-discovery. We have all found the path that makes us our happiest selves, and we should never be ashamed of that!

Pride helps shape us into who we are and that Pride carries us in many ways throughout our lives. We notice that struggles others go through and we are able to use that intersectionality to help ALL communities get the right they deserve and the ability to celebrate their Pride!

No matter the hate and discrimination we face, we will NEVER back down!

This weekend I finished graduate school!! Getting to walk so emotional for me! I never got to in undergrad, so having this opportunity, especially one on the national mall, was an absolutely incredible experience!!!

I'm beyond grateful for all the support and love I have received throughout this journey! I'll never forget it, and I can't wait for the next chapter to continue to bring new and exciting adventures!!

Emotional Support Animals (ESA's) are domesticated animals that help provide therapeutic comfort and splice to individuals with mental health disabilities.

They can help calm someone down, provide companionship, and allow someone to focus on caring for their animal rather than the stress the world is giving them.

One important distinction is that ESA's are not pets. Nor are they service animals under the ADA. However, some states have laws that allow ESA's in public places.

My ESA is my cat, Ozzie. While i have had er for 17 years, she has been my ESA for 5. She has helped me tremendously when it comes to relieving stress and talking myself down from any mental health crises. I'm beyond grateful for her.

This past weekend, I finished my last assignment for Grad school, and I am officially done! It has been a roller coaster of a journey, from health issues, balancing work, having a social life, and my advocacy work. But, I would not change anything about this journey because it has helped shape me into the person I am now!

I want to thank everyone on this page who has supported me over the last year. Without your motivation and support, I seriously doubt I would have the courage to cross this finish line!

I cannot wait for future adventures both in my life and with this page!

4 years ago, the Panedmic began. For many of us in the disability community, it was the hardest moment of our lives. It was full of fear, isolation, and sadness. During that period, we searched for those bright moments of beauty in the world.

For me, it was a stray I rescued called Lenny. He was hurt, and I nursed him back to health. Every day, he would come to my apartment, and I would feed him and pet him. He gave me purpose in a time I had none.

Sadly, my landlord created an u safe environment for me, and I was forced to leave. I had no way of taking care of Lenny afterward.

While that moment was sad, and I hope he found a family of love and care, it was the moment that kept me going. It helped shape me into who I am today. Even though our darkest moments, there is light. Never, ever, give up.

It was such a pleasure to host a virtual presentation at my alma mater, Hartwick College, concerning Rare Disease Day & Disability rights.

Being able to share the importance of recognizing disability and accessibility is not only important on college campuses, but everywhere. Everywhere should be built in a universal design that allows everyone to enjoy access and to not fear discrimination or harassment.

It was a lovely conversation with everyone, and I want to thank for inviting me to speak the wonderful students and faculty. I cannot wait to see more change start at Hartwick, and around the world due to you incredible people!

Happy Rare Disease Day, Everyone!!!!

This day is to celebrate and remember that we do in-fact exist and that we have fought so hard to get where we are today!

3 year old me, who got this dog full of signatures when I had an open heart surgery, could not have imagined this beautiful community existed!!

Despite the pain, fears, and isolation I've faced, I'll never trade away this community or my life experiences. I love you all and I hope you have an incredible day!!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of advocating with my fellow New Jersians.

Rare Disease legislation matters!!!! Fighting for a better future for all of us, matters!! Creating a better future for the next generation of disabled people, matters!!

I loved seeing advocates in my state, from 6 to 80, fight for these bills and share their personal stories and how they connect to these bills.

Thank you to Rep. Kean Jr. And Rep. Norcross' staff for meeting with us, as well as Sen. Menendez and Sen. Booker's staff.

All these wonderful people make advocacy worth it! We've all shared the same pains, fears, and isolation, yet we can come together and create so much good in this world!

There is so much compassion, understanding, and ability to grow eachothers confidence and feel like I have a 2nd family. I am beyond grateful for each and every one of you! ❤️ you are all my heroes, and I know we will have an incredible day advocating!!

Living with a Rare Disease means you have many surgeries, even at a very young age. At age 3, I wore this very scrub when I had a Ross Procedure to replace my heart valve.

I didn't know it at the time, but I was not alone. Many other young adults had surgeries at a young age. Many others felt isolated from their peers who did not have similar experiences. Many others had the fear of surgery or dying way before they should have.

Thankfully, we are still here. We have grown into incredible advocates that are ready to go to Capitol Hill for Rare Disease Week. I cannot wait to see you all tomorrow!! Never be afraid to show your stripes!
