It’s with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Karen Lanay Carter Richardson, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, North Carolina.
She was born in Danville, Virginia, April 11, 1959 to the late Haywood Rayfield Carter and Hallie Bell Childs Carter.
She was owner and operator of Little Angels Day Care and a devoted member of White Rock Baptist Church, Locust Lane.
She leaves to cherish loving memories; her devoted husband; Nathaniel Richardson, two loving daughters; Wykesha Thaxton and Wynette Richardson, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; seven sisters; Pasedena Woods(Johnny) Lelia Harrison, Hazel Howard(Johnny) Cynthia Carter, Angela Deshazor(Billy) Rachel Brim(Harry) and Sherry Walker(Donald) one brother; Laconia Carter; a godsister, Pearl Washington and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing, with ten to view at a time, face mask are required, will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM at DL McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 12 Noon at DL McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Walter Tinsley as eulogist. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive guests at the residence, 600 Third Avenue(mask are required)
