WAY BACK WEDNESDAY!!! Aspiring actors and actresses had their chances at BHS in 1948-1949! The Senior Class play entertained with “Bertha, the Beautiful Typewriter Girl.” The Junior Class Play was a comedy entitled “Trouble Shooter.” The One-Act Play was a tragedy called “Undertow.”

TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY!!! Vocal Music and Band had success at BHS in 1987-1988. Varsity Choir earned a “1” rating at District. Under a new director, the Band had eight students earn “All-State” honors. Several instrumentalists qualified for Honor Bands at Hastings, Nebraska Wesleyan or University of Nebraska at Omaha.

MONDAY MEMORIES!!! The BHS musical in 2013-2014 was the iconic “Bye Bye Birdie.” The cast and crew numbered over 100 students and ran for three nights. Students and community were thoroughly entertained.

Congrats to BHS alum Bob Leehy!!! Thank you for your selfless service to our BHS students and to the Blair community!
🐾 Golden Blair Paw Award 🐾

The Blair Police Department is proud to congratulate Officer Leehy on receiving the Golden Blair Paw Award tonight which was, presented in recognition of his continued service and dedication to the Blair community.

Officer Leehy’s connection to Blair runs deep. He is a Blair High School graduate, has continued serving his hometown as a Blair Police Officer, and for the past 8 years has served as the School Resource Officer at Blair High School.

During his time as an SRO, Officer Leehy has built relationships with countless students, staff members, and families while working every day to help make Blair High School a safe and welcoming place.

We are proud to see his dedication recognized by the school he once attended and now serves.

Congrats to the BHS softball on being crowned the 2026 Bellevue East Chieftain Invite Champs! 🏆 They defeated Hastings for the championship! Along the way the Bears topped Millard West, Kearney, and Papillion LaVista. Thanks Blair Softball for the picture!

Congrats to BHS alum Brandon Kelly!!👏👏👏

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Brandon Kelly, recipient of the 2026 Jackson Award for Arts from the Community Foundation of West Tennessee!

Brandon has poured his time, talent, creativity, and heart into the Jackson Theatre Guild and the arts throughout our community. As a director, performer, designer, and creative leader, he has helped bring productions to life both onstage and behind the scenes.

Alongside his wife, Lindsay Kelly, Brandon founded Guild Jr., expanding the Guild’s programming to create more opportunities for children and young people to experience theatre. Together, they have worked to give young performers a place to learn, create, build confidence, form friendships, and discover a lifelong love of the arts.

Whether he is directing a mainstage production, creating something behind the scenes, designing lights, working with young artists, or dreaming up what comes next, Brandon believes deeply in the power of theatre to bring people together and strengthen our community.

We are so grateful to everyone who nominated Brandon for this recognition and to the Community Foundation of West Tennessee for honoring his contributions to the arts in Jackson.

Congratulations, Brandon, on receiving the Jackson Award for Arts! We are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Jackson Theatre Guild and grateful for all you continue to give to the arts and to our community.

THROW BACK THURSDAY!!! Pep Club and cheerleaders at BHS in 1966-1967 kept students and community engaged at sporting events.

TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY!!! Tennis along with Boys and Girls Golf at BHS in 2008-2009 were sports that operated under the radar, but featured outstanding athletes. Tennis was much improved due to experience and cooperative weather. Golf saw the girls finish 2nd at the EMC meet. The boys were District Runner-Up and qualified for Class B State.
