Deerfield 5th Grade teacher, Ms. Julia Gigliodoro, was named the recipient of the Outstanding Elementary Education Graduate Award by the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Teacher Education Graduate Programs! This honor recognizes her hard work, dedication, and outstanding achievements in the field of elementary education.

This award is part of UNO’s annual recognition of excellence within the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, highlighting future educators who are making a meaningful impact.

Our fourth graders had big goals for their spring testing and they did an amazing job! They celebrated by getting to pie the teachers last week.

The Annual 5th Grade Outdoor Education Day at DeSoto is always a big hit! Students and their parents got to spend the day cooking breakfast, doing a wetlands study, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. We had beautiful weather and smiles all around. Thanks to our amazing team of 5th grade teachers for all their work to make this day a special memory for our families. 🐻💜

312 boxes of cereal… and one BIG act of kindness 🥣💜

Our students donated 312 boxes of cereal for the local food pantry! Today we celebrated with a domino box drop today, but the real impact is what our students are doing for others. We are so proud of the way they continue to show up for our community. These are our Deerfield kind of kids.

Blair Community Schools will have a two hour late start on Tuesday, April 07, 2026, due to snowy weather conditions. There will be no morning preschool. Busses will run accordingly. Please be safe and stay warm!
