Blaine Middle School

Blaine Middle School Our mission begins with our student's health and well-being. Together, with the support of staff, students and families we work to make this a reality.

Students learn best when they feel safe, are cared for by staff, families, and the community, and are respected as young people emerging toward adulthood. Each year, we promote a "Culture of Care" at BMS by leading students through lessons that teach kids about caring for themselves, others, and their community. This year we are incorporating Rachel's Challenge, which encourages students to dream

big, believe in themselves, and show kindness and appreciation to others. Student assemblies, parent nights, and student activities that focus on maintaining a positive culture will help empower students to make a personal difference in their school and community. Finally, we want students understand that persisting through learning challenges is hard work and requires a growth mindset. Putting this learning mindset into practice often means that we must make multiple attempts to learn a skill before success is achieved. Creating "Culture of Care" and a Growth Mindset in our school is the foundation in which all other learning rests.

Halloween is here! It's such a fun evening for kids and teens to head out and trick-or-treat. In an effort to preserve the educational environment for all students, please save all Halloween costumes, make-up, and masks for the evening fun and do not bring them to school. Thank you so much for your support.

Red Ribbon Week is coming October 23rd - October 27th!

Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the Nation! It is a way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. The theme this year is "Your Future is Key so Stay Drug Free".

It has been a little over a month since the Rachel’s Challenge Program came to our school with a message of hope, caring and kindness for our students. On that day most of our students signed the poster to accept Rachel’s Challenge. Since that day over 100 kids have joined the For Rachel Club, and they are working on projects around the school that promote caring. We have seen our students embrace this message, and the culture of care in our building continues to grow. We are so impressed by the level of compassion and empathy that BMS students show. We look forward to seeing how the message of Rachel’s Challenge continues to spread throughout the year.

Fastpitch parents: Games cancelled for the remainder of the week. There will be a potential reschedule for Monday, we aren't sure yet! There will be batting cage practice today until 4:30pm for the 8th graders. 7th graders are welcome to join Coach Williams and the 8th graders at the batting cages! Hoping to have more info about next week asap!

Tuesday 10/17/17: The 7th Grade fastpitch game scheduled for today has been RESCHEDULED. Also, NO practice for 7th Grade fastpitch today. They will practice tomorrow and their game is rescheduled to Thursday, 10/19/17...same time, same place.
