I have said it many times that I believe that for me to be the best teacher I need to remain a student. Continually learning and growing as a piano teacher and piano player are very high priorities for me and I am always looking for opportunities to do just that. Whether it be through workshops, seminars, membership in associations that challenge me and expose me to new music and teaching materials or any other myriad of options, I enjoy becoming better.

This past summer I took a 10-week course in Intermediate Piano Pedagogy through The Royal Conservatory of Music based in Toronto, Ontario. I learned so much and am constantly working on incorporating all that I learned in my students’ lessons. I am hoping to go further and earn my certification in Advanced Piano Pedagogy as well.

I had my first virtual recital last night featuring 21 amazing students playing really fun Halloween pieces. I was nervous about the technology, but with the help of some very knowledgeable and supportive individuals, things went smoothly and the students were very entertaining.

I'm so thankful for the group of students I get to teach every week! They make me happy and I so enjoy spending time with them.
