Six Massachusetts DI teams spent a day at the Robotics and AI Institute in Cambridge, driving Boston Dynamics Spot robots and solving pirate-themed Instant Challenges that taught them about AI, collision avoidance, and data collection.
DI alumna Noam works at the lab. When she told her team lead about DI, they recognized the same creative problem-solving skills they use every day. So they built a room-sized board game and invited teams to play.
By the end of the day, the kids navigated robots through all 10 challenges without any adult help. They came up with solutions the RAI team hadn't thought of during testing.
Turns out the skills you practice in DI are exactly what show up in real-world tech work.
