PCHS Forestry team placed third in the state today at the FFA Forestry Field Day. These members have put in a lot of work these past several weeks and we are very proud of the people they are and the work that they do. For a few of these, this was their first time ever doing these contests and they’ve really impressed. Abby Murphy has made huge strides in measuring pulpwood trees. She made an 87 out of 100 points today. They all give 100%. Our community should be proud of these young people.

Individual Scores:

Sam Chesser made a perfect score and is now the top Tree ID member in Georgia. He got everything correct except for one single tiebreaker. That is impressive! Paige Folette is the top land measuring member in Georgia as she placed first in this competition with a score 94. That’s hard to do and she’s only done this competition for the first time this season! Parker Sinclair placed second in Reforestation in an event that seemed more difficult than normal this year.

Team members: Bayne Taylor, Jack Gladem, Jackson Courson, Paige Folette, Riley Thomas, Parker Sinclair, Kylee King, Matthew Panning, Coleman Lee, Sam Chesser, Abby Murphy

Go Bears.
