As we celebrate a year of Red, White, & BEAR Blue: BES Proud, Strong, & True!, we’re excited to partner with our families to make this school year the best one yet.

To help you plan ahead, we’ve shared our 2026-2027 Student Holiday & Early Release Calendar. We encourage families to schedule vacations, trips, and non-urgent appointments during these designated school breaks whenever possible.

Every day at Blackshear Elementary is filled with meaningful learning, relationship-building, and opportunities for our Bears to grow. Consistent attendance is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child, helping them stay connected, confident, and successful throughout the year.

At Blackshear Elementary, we know that being a great student isn’t just about what you know—it’s also about how you treat others. That’s why we’re starting a new tradition on our Monday morning announcements: MANNERS MONDAY! 👏

Each Monday, Ms. Mandy will share a simple reminder with our BESties about good manners, kindness, respect, and how we can make our school and our community a better place.

Ask your child:

Then practice together! During a family conversation, see if everyone can listen without interrupting and wait for their turn to speak.

We want to make sure our BES families have the information they need to stay connected and up-to-date all year long! Two important tools we encourage every BES family to set up are Infinite Campus and ParentSquare.

Today, we gathered for our first House Pep Rally of the year, and the energy was incredible! From loud cheers and friendly competition to lots of smiles and excitement, our students proudly represented their houses and showed what it means to be part of the BES family.

This is just the beginning of an exciting year filled with teamwork, leadership, service, and school spirit. Every point counts, every act of kindness matters, and every house has its eyes on the championship! Who will be this year's house winner?
