💙 Once a Bear, Always a Bear — Remembering Mr. Tommy Colley 💙

The Pierce County Bear family lost one of its most faithful and beloved supporters last night, Mr. Tommy Colley.

And in a way that seems so fitting for a man who loved his Bears so deeply, Mr. Tommy spent his final evening doing one of the things he loved most—cheering on his BEARS.

If you have been around Pierce County athletics for very long, chances are you knew Mr. Tommy. He wasn't just a fan in the stands. He was part of the heart of Bear Nation.

He showed up. He cheered. He encouraged. He prayed. He cooked for our teams. He supported our coaches and athletes. Most importantly, he loved our young people and took great pride in watching them represent Pierce County.

Mr. Tommy's support was never about wins and losses. It was about people, relationships, community, and a genuine love for Pierce County. Whether he was in the stands cheering, preparing food for a team, offering an encouraging word, or simply letting someone know he was praying for them, he found countless ways to show our students and programs that they mattered.

There are some people whose presence becomes so much a part of a school and community that it is difficult to imagine our events without them. Mr. Tommy was one of those people.

Tonight, there will be an empty place in Bear Nation that cannot truly be filled. But what a blessing it is to know that generations of Bears were loved, encouraged, and supported by Mr. Tommy Colley.

To his family, please know that your Pierce County family is grieving alongside you. We are incredibly thankful that you shared Mr. Tommy with us for so many years, and we are surrounding you with our love, prayers, and support during the difficult days ahead.

Thank you, Mr. Tommy, for loving our Bears so well. Your legacy will live on in the lives of the young people you supported and in the community you loved so dearly.
