Last week’s Fall Family Festival was one for the books! 🍂🎃

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Sinkland Farms for an evening of hayrides, the corn maze, line dancing, costumes, food, drinks and plenty of fall fun. It was wonderful to see so many members of the VTCRC community, along with their families and friends, come together and enjoy the evening.

A special thank you to Courtyard Marriott, our beverage sponsor, and to our Vendor Alley partners: InternshipsVA, Montgomery County VA Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Tech Police Department, Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg, ITT Cleaning LLC, and Northpoint Insurance Advisors.

We’re also grateful to our costume raffle and prize sponsors: Wonder Universe: A Children's Museum, B&B Theatres Blacksburg 11 with B-Roll Bowling, It's Game Time At The Superbowl, Petco, Sinkland Farms, Poppy's of Christiansburg, and the Roanoke-Blacksburg Innovation Alliance.

Take a look through the photos to relive some of our favorite moments from the festival! 📸 Meredith White Photography

Celebrating 50 years of innovation and impact! 🌊

For five decades, VT Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center has supported Virginia's seafood industry through research, innovation and industry partnerships.

We're proud to help amplify this work and its connection to the broader innovation ecosystem in Hampton Roads, including the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center's Secure Energy Future Center.

Congratulations to the Seafood AREC on this milestone!

Did you know that Virginia’s seafood industry contributes more than $1.27 billion to the state’s economy?

For 50 years, the Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center has worked to sustain and grow that industry, applying Virginia Tech research to challenges that affect its businesses and its future.

What happens when the context around your business keeps changing? You adapt. 🔄

Thank you to Rich Shok, Founder and CEO of Code One Training Solutions, for joining us at the ERC for this morning’s Tech Talk!

Rich shared how Code One has continued to anticipate what its customers need, from transforming its training model during the pandemic to building technology in-house and growing from 12 locations in 2020 to 115 locations today. Now training approximately 35,000 people each year, Code One’s story was a great example of how listening to your customers, embracing change, and continuing to evolve can create opportunities for growth.

Join us for our next Tech Talk featuring Patty Raun, Founding Director of the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech.
