Creative Writing Majors, if you anticipate graduation someday, you need to attend the Dept of English Career Weekend!! The deadline to apply is tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 17th).
It is a great opportunity to prepare for your future, no matter what that is.

Hey Majors: Come to the UG Conference Kick-Off Party on Friday, Oct. 30th from 12:30-2 in 370/380 Shanks. Lots of information about how to submit a proposal to the conference, which happens in late March, 2010. There will be food and decorations and your favorite Engl faculty members in funny costumes! Stop by and have some pizza and start planning to be a part of this HUGE day on the English Dept. calendar.

The Hollins University award-winning annual literary magazine, Cargoes, is calling for submissions for our National Undergraduate Competition in Fiction and Poetry. There is a $200 prize for the winning entries in fiction and poetry, as well as publication in the 2010 issue of Cargoes. The deadline is December 20th, 2009.
