SEG-VT (formerly GSVT) is the Virginia Tech student chapter of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
The objective of this organization shall be to promote interest in, and knowledge of, the sciences of geophysics and allied sciences, and to promote friendship and cooperation among those interested in the geophysical sciences.

The Great SouthEast Shakeout is coming up! Thursday Oct 16 at the Virginia Tech Museum of Geosciences (VT MoGs) from 4-5pm. This is a great opportunity for elementary school kids to learn about earthquake safety. Comment if interested in helping out or attending!!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the new semester! We are starting things off with a new lineup of officers this year, so if you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions for GSVT, please feel free to post them here or contact any of us directly. The new officers are Kathy (President); Lindsay S. (Vice President); Kannikha (Treasurer); Anna (Secretary) and Aida (Librarian). We are hoping to have a lot more activities going on this year, so all your suggestions are welcome!
