We are so lucky to have the opportunity to release our classroom trout in Sinking Creek. Our Middle Schoolers had a fantastic time exploring the local environment on a gorgeous day!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Our third grade through fifth grade art classes were invited by the local Blacksburg Gardening Club to participate in a poster contest. It’s exciting to share that three of our students were selected to move on to the regional level. All of the students worked really hard, and a big congratulations to those that were selected.

We found out a few trees on the playground are perfect for syrup! Turquoise Room parent, Ava, showed our Middle Schoolers how to tap these maples.

A couple weeks later- she taught us how to make syrup from the sap! Jared (our English teacher) cooked up some pancakes so we could sample the fruits of our labor!

This balmy weather has Rachel excited to get back outside for P.E. soon! Students and parents jumped in to help shovel the snow and slush off of the basketball court, while other students managed the meltwater streams draining off the court downhill to the creekbed.

Even our alumni (and their friends) enjoyed the carnival games at Chocolate Party!

These BNS Juniors and Seniors may or may not have been smoked by our littles (🤫) but had an absolute blast!
