I attended Margaret Beeks Elementary School for first through fourth grades from 1979-1982 and now I've published a novel, PRETEND WE ARE LOVELY, set in Blacksburg in the summer of 1982 and two main characters, sisters Enid and Vivvy, are students at Margaret Beeks. Longtime locals will also recognize Carol Lee, Gillie's, Mr. Fooz, Virginia Tech in the book. You knew me as Nicole Reid; I go by Noley now.
