☀️📚NEW STORY ALERT! 📚🐻

Summer vacation is officially here, and so is a brand-new adventure on our Storybook Walk! Gather the kiddos, lace up your sneakers, and come check out our latest featured book: "And Then Comes Summer"! 📚✨

Montgomery County children will have access to several summer nutrition programs this summer, including free onsite meals, SUN Meal Kits, and additional food assistance opportunities through Feeding Southwest Virginia. 🍎

Free meals for children 18 years old and younger will be available at select MCPS locations throughout June, July, and early August. SUN Meal Kits with seven breakfasts and seven lunches will also be available weekly for pickup.

Big congratulations to the 5th-grade "Beeks Bookworm" winners, led by top reader Alaina Wickham with 353 books, and our other top honorees—Lawson, Khadija, Airlie, Owen, and Avery—who all received a copy of the very first book they ever checked out from our library. A special recognition also goes to Sophie Gil for bringing so much sunshine and joy to the library every day.

We are so excited for the next chapter for this 5th grade class of enthusiastic readers! 📚✨

Today Pre-K made “Make and Take” calm down bottles. This year they learned strategies to help with big emotions. Remember, Stop..Think…Take 3 deep breaths…and come up with a solution. Using their calm down bottles can be a solution to a lot of big feelings.
