Our Friends & Fungi Toddler Hike was so much fun! We explored Pandapas to look for signs of mushrooms, observed the differences between gills, veins, and pores. We talked about spore dispersal, and saw it in action with a puffball ready to poke! We even saw 2 (or more!) frogs and observed a few jump into the pond. After collecting some finds, we ate snacks while we read On a Mushroom Day and took a closer look with the magnifying glass, microscope and guide from Blacksburg Library (thanks guys!!).

Hi friends! Short notice but I hope you can make it to our next toddler nature hike tomorrow at 10:30am! We will meet in the lower Pandapas Pond parking lot at 10:30, and embark on a hike to look for fungi with our friends with some stories and light literacy activities. Bring snacks (no nuts please!!), water, and sun protection!

This program has a sliding scale cost between $5-$20 payable in advance on Venmo (alyssadcarp) or cash day of.

Hi friends! Reminder that Miss Alyssa will be on vacation this Friday so we won’t have storytime this week but we will be back at it next week! The bookstore will do a storytime at 11, and is still open for gathering, playing, and reading so head over on Friday to meet up with friends and see your favorite turtle, Dribble 🐢 and I’ll see you next week!
