Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University. Our five Founders, known as the Five Pearls, are Arizona Clever Stemons, Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, and Fannie Pettie Watts. Today we celebrate 33 Triumphant years!!!!! The Upsilon Lambda Chapter was chartered on the campus of Virginia Tech on May 22, 1982 by Seven Hard-Working Woman (Denise Cartwright, Diane Eaves, Crystal Bullock McGhee, Lynn Hamilton-Jones, Monalisa White, Francine Atkinson, and Vivian Johnson Barry). These seven women strived daily to uphold the four principles in which the sorority stands for. To this day the chapter retains its original zest for excellence through volunteer work, hosting campus forums, and continuing high academic performance.

Yesterday evening, in the midst of the Relay festivities, our magnificent Vice President Karlin Triggs was initiated into Virginia Tech's chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha National Greek Academic Honor Society. She is truly inspiring and one of a kind. We are definitely losing a good one in May. Keep working hard and honoring your values. Our founders would be proud! Congratulations!

Tonight, our President and Vice President were inducted into the Beta Upsilon Chapter of the Rho Lambda National Leadership Recognition Society for Sorority Women. "Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort."
