Join us April 23–24, 2027, for the inaugural **Dear Higher Education Convivencia: Where Letters Spark Transformative Conversations**, at Penn State Great Valley Conference Center in Greater Philadelphia.

Inspired by Dear Higher Education: Letters from the Social Justice Mountain, an open-access journal hosted by the University of Minnesota Libraries, the Convivencia draws on its published letters from women of color in higher education and its forthcoming special issue focused on women from the African diaspora, including the Caribbean.

Building on the 15-year legacy of the Faculty Women of Color in the Academy (FWCA) National Conference, this national and international gathering invites faculty, students, administrators, and higher education professionals to connect, learn, and engage in transformative conversations.

We invite your proposals! Share your scholarship, experiences, and perspectives through sessions focused on leadership, writing and publishing, well-being, technology, community, and institutional transformation.

Join us for two days of meaningful conversations, workshops, connection, and a special gala celebrating 15 years of FWCA.

**What happens when the letters leave the page and enter the room?**

For 15 years, FWCA has created space for scholarship, connection, leadership, and community. Dear Higher Education: Letters from the Social Justice Mountain extended that work through letters that ask higher education to listen, reflect, and respond.

Now, the conversation moves from the page into a shared space.

Inspired especially by the journal’s special issues centering **women of color in higher education and women from the African diaspora**, the Convivencia will gather scholars, leaders, practitioners, writers, students, and community members for conversations grounded in their experiences, scholarship, leadership, and visions for the future of higher education.

Join us on Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00 PM ET for From Surviving to Thriving: Mapping Your Well-Being, an interactive session with Riece Hamilton.

We spend so much time responding to what needs our attention. This Healing Hour creates space to ask a different question: What do I need to thrive?

Together, we’ll reflect on what is working, consider what well-being looks like for each of us, and identify practical steps for moving forward with greater intention.

Letters should be 1,500–3,000 words.
