Virginia Tech's dynamic Graduate Certificate program in Local Government Management “THE Certific

The Virginia Tech Center for Public Administration and Policy (CPAP), in partnership with the Virginia Local Government Management Association (VLGMA), has developed a new graduate certificate program in local government management that helps to address this pressing workforce development need. The central goal of the program is to offer graduate-level training in local government management that

both prepares pre-career students for capable public service at the local level and enhances the capacities of existing local government employees who aspire to be town, city, or county managers or assistant/deputy managers.

Virginia Finance Network In-Person Luncheon at The Inn at Virginia Tech

This network was created in April 2020 at the start of the pandemic. The network met every week to share information on the financial impacts of the pandemic on local governments. Over 300 local officials have joined the network and we have a great partnership with VML, VACO, VGFOA, GFOA and of course, Virginia Tech. The VA Finance Network has continued to meet virtually for over four years. We held our first in-person meeting today. Thank you to our participants and partners.
