Thomas Disharoon spent the summer working as an asset management intern with CSC Leasing in Richmond, Virginia!

He gained experience organizing equipment inventory and auditing while working with the organization, helping make their internal communication more efficient. The internship allowed him to build skills in inventory management, attention to detail, process improvement and using data to measure performance to help build systems that make the operation run smoother.

What a fantastic experience for Thomas as he enters his senior year as a communication major 👏

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓

Johnice Sarmiento-Butler spent the summer working with Lionsbridge FC as a Digital Content Intern!

As a digital content intern, she’s gained hands-on experience creating social media content for the club, developing skills in photography, videography and audio/video editing. She’s also had the opportunity to conduct player interviews, travel with the team for road games, and help fulfill sponsor deliverables.

“My favorite part about my internship was the people. I was a part of the largest intern class so far and we often shared what our different roles were and it was interesting to see what goes into a sports team from all perspectives. I was also able to work with people who are actively in the industry that I aspire to be a part of. This internship has helped give me the real world experience of adapting to challenges in the fast-paced environment that is sports media.”

It’s all great experience for Johnice as she enters her senior year as a multimedia journalism major. 🙌

Kyle Reeder has been interning with the Ohio Mayor’s Alliance this summer!

As a media intern, he’s gaining experience capturing interviews, collecting B-roll, reporting and networking as part of the alliance’s “Celebrating Ohio Cities” campaign. He’s also helping run their social media accounts, in addition to assisting with video edits, infographics, and outreach to new businesses and collaborators.

What a fantastic experience for Kyle as he enters his senior year as a multimedia journalism major. 👏

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓

Mackenzie Spangler is working as a Social Media Management & Strategy intern for the City of Richmond under Councilman Andrew “Gumby” Breton.

Through the role, she is getting a better understanding of local government and the impact of political communication in a professional setting. Her daily responsibilities include monitoring social media platforms, engaging with community members at local events and filming and editing digital content.

It's an excellent opportunity for Mackenzie as she heads into her senior year as a multimedia journalism major. 👏
