Each semester, Hillcrest hosts Last Lecture, where we invite a professor to answer this question: “If this was the last lecture you could ever give, what would you talk about?” This semester, our guest is Dr. Peter Wallenstein. It’s time to vote for your next Hillcrest Hall Council! Check your email for the nominees’ platforms and click the link for the Google Form. We need at least a third of the dorm to vote to make the election official and currently, we only have about half of what we need. If you haven't voted, make sure to do so today. If you have voted, reach out to your friends from Hillcrest and make sure they've voted too! Residents who don't plan on returning next year can and should vote; everyone's vote gets counted. Polls close at midnight tonight; let’s elect ourselves some officers!

🌎 Happy Earth Day 🌎
In honor of today (the 50th anniversary of Earth Day!), we are highlighting the efforts of one of our amazing residents, Devan! Throughout the semester, he has sent out newsletters to the dorm listserv with environmental news and tips to help us become better and more informed citizens. Here are some words from Devan:
“I started the Hillcrest sustainability initiative because I believe that individual sustainable actions work together to promote the health of a community by building enthusiasm around a common cause and improving the environment we live in. For Hillcrest, my goal is to start a tradition based around sustainability that is recognized for many years in Hillcrest Hall. Hopefully, this tradition will inspire future residents to take action to save the environment and continue to build up the strength of the community.”

Happy Spring Break Hillcrest Hokies! Our final tradition highlight comes as Deep Discussions at Deet’s, a very chilled out activity where we go to our on-campus coffee and ice cream shop to discuss all the deep questions of life. If you are interested, check your email for the weekly announcement!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s the second day of the week and the second tradition highlight of the week, which could only mean that it is time for D2sday! Every Tuesday, members of our hall make the trek over to D2, our fabulous “buffet style” dining hall located in Dietrick Hall. It’s a time where we all gather together to eat a lot of food and just hang out. If you currently live in Hillcrest and haven’t had a chance to attend a D2sday, make sure to look for the weekly email reminders 😊

Hello everyone! This week we are highlighting some of our hall traditions. Today’s post is about our wonderful Hall Council! Hall Council is in charge of hall activities, communicating with the Honors College, and is made up of seven upperclassmen and two freshmen. We hold elections every spring semester, and they are coming up very soon! If you are a current resident in Hillcrest who is planning on returning, and would like to be a part of council next year, look out for information on elections soon!
