Recent Alumni Board Spotlight!

Meet Shreya Parajuli, a 2020 Virginia Tech graduate who has built a career at the intersection of business, technology, and cybersecurity.

Shreya is a Cyber Consultant at EY specializing in Identity and Access Management, where she works with public sector and government clients to strengthen security, modernize identity controls, and navigate complex regulatory environments.

Since graduating from Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business with dual degrees in Management and Business Information Technology, Shreya has also earned an M.S. in Cybersecurity from New York University.

We’re excited to have Shreya bringing that experience and perspective back to Virginia Tech as a member of our Recent Alumni Board and helping us continue to strengthen the connection between the classroom and where business and technology are headed.

Thank you, Shreya!

Congratulations to Professor Koehler Slagel, MBA on being recognized as one of the Top 10 recipients of the 2026 Everyday Hero Award, presented by the SHRM Foundation in partnership with USAA. This national recognition honors veterans who have successfully transitioned to civilian careers while making a meaningful impact in their organizations and communities.

As an Assistant Professor of Practice in Virginia Tech's Department of Management and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Professor Slagel exemplifies servant leadership both inside and outside the classroom. His passion for mentoring students, developing future business leaders, and fostering a culture of authenticity, resilience, and continuous growth has made a lasting impact on our department and the broader Pamplin community.

Professor Slagel's story is a powerful reminder that leadership is built through service, relationships, and a commitment to helping others reach their full potential. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved national recognition and grateful for the example he sets each day for our students, colleagues, alumni, and industry partners.

While Veterans Day provides an important opportunity to recognize those who have served, our gratitude should not be limited to a single day each year. The leadership, character, and commitment that veterans bring to our classrooms, workplaces, and communities have a positive impact every day. We are thankful not only for their military service, but also for the many ways they continue to strengthen our society long after they have transitioned to civilian life.
