Persistent bullying can lead to or worsen feelings of isolation, rejection, exclusion, and despair, as well as depression and anxiety, which can contribute to suicidal behavior.
It's up to all of us to work together and be there for those who are victims of bullying. By treating others with kindness and respect, we can show kids that there is no place for bullying.

Studies have shown that adults can help prevent bullying by talking to children about bullying, encouraging them to do what they love, modeling kindness and respect, and seeking help.
Bystanders, or those who see bullying, can make a huge difference when they intervene on behalf of someone being bullied. We all have to work together to end bullying.

Solutions to bullying are not simple. The bullying prevention approaches that show the most promise confront the problem from many angles. They involve the entire school community. Students, families, administrators, teachers, and staff must work together in creating a culture of respect.

Homecoming has officially started, and I am extremely excited for the next two weeks and to share my platform with everyone! My name is Brendan Schuldner and I am a senior studying political science. After graduation I hope to attend law school and eventually work in the music industry as an agent/manager.
When I was in middle school, I faced a lot of bullying and did not have many friends so I know how intense bullying can be and the negative impacts that come with it. Through my platform, Battle Bullying with Brendan, I want to bring a program to Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg community to start a club here where college students meet up with Blacksburg HS students and give them a space where they feel comfortable and heard and help them through the struggles of bullying. I can't wait to speak with everyone and share my passion for this campaign! Together we can Battle Bullying with Brendan and make a difference in our community!
