The CAATS Lab was founded in 2017 by Dr. Benjamin Katz to study cognition across the lifespan.

ATTENTION: We are currently recruiting participants located in the Blacksburg, VA area for a study of how caregiving stress may influence cognitive performance and neural mechanisms in adult caregivers (18+). Participants may earn up to $30 for 60-90 minutes of activities, which can be done in our lab, at home, or a local location of your choice.

Ongoing Research – Cognitive Aging and Translational Science Laboratory In a collaboration with Dr. Tae-Ho Lee in Psychology at Virginia Tech, we are studying how a training program designed to improve working memory and attentional control might lead to differential improvements in cognition and neurophysiological markers (using fMRI) among older and younger adults.
