We love celebrating our students' accomplishments, and today, we want to take a moment to celebrate Eric Otoo-Annan, an HNFE PhD student in , who was announced as a recipient of the Peacock-Harper scholarship earlier this year!

The scholarship, awarded by the Virginia Tech Food Studies program, promote the use of the History of Food & Drink collecting area, including the Peacock-Harper Culinary History Collection.

For Virginia Tech's Alumni Weekend, we had the chance to host an open house in our Foods Teaching Lab!

Several of our Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics students joined to share some of the ways they use the space and what they've learned during their time as students!

Commencement may have been a couple weeks ago, but we're still celebrating our graduates!

Today, we're congratulating one of our Virginia Tech Internship in Nutrition and Dietetics and OMALS students, Carrie Brown!
Carrie’s path to dietetics started after a search for a career that combined her love of food, health, and helping others. Through the flexibility of the OMALS program and hands-on clinical experience at UVA, she’s been able to bring everything she’s learned together in real patient care.
After completing her internship, she plans to stay with UVA as a clinical dietitian, continuing to build her career close to home!

Sláinte, Ireland! Students headed out from Dublin today to start the rest of their summer after an amazing 10 days getting immersed in history, culture, exercise and health sciences, and, most importantly, some good Irish craic!

Last day of activities in Ireland! Students traveled to University College Dublin to listen to lectures from nutrition and strength and power experts before getting in the gym for some hands-on strength testing of their own!

Today in Ireland: Sheep dog demonstrations and the Cliffs of Moher! Our students took a little trip to the west side of the country today and got to see some sheep dogs herding sheep, then take in the sights at the Cliffs of Moher!
Only one more day of study abroad for this group!

Today’s HNFE in Ireland update: A hurling match and more sightseeing! Our students were out and about seeing the sights and culture of Ireland. Tomorrow, they head to the Cliffs of Moher, with a few fun stops along the way!

Today’s Ireland update is from the students’ free day! They took the opportunity today to get out and explore all around the country, from Belfast, to Giant’s Causeway, Galway, Kilkenny, and more!

Off into the countryside! Today the HNFE students embarked on a fascinating bus tour across the countryside surrounding Dublin. Starting early, the students enjoyed soending time at the beautiful wicklow waterfalls, before visiting the historic Glendaloch monastery, learning about the signifigance of its religious history in the country. The students finished out the night enjoying irish dancing and even participated! (We see you David).
Tomorrow the students will explore the country on their own visiting numerous cities, towns, and landmarks. Stay tuned for tomorrow!
