🌟 Student Spotlight: Varsha Durai 🔬✨
For Varsha Durai, hands-on learning at the Discovery Lab goes far beyond the textbook! As a peer leader, Varsha has spent her time operating industry grade equipment, collaborating with local partners, and pioneering innovative research including developing a framework to detect airborne microplastics using a custom 3D-printed aerosol detection device, which she is presented at the Summer Research Conference! 🧫📊
Beyond the lab bench, Varsha is passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists. A personal highlight? Facilitating workshops for young girls where she uses LEGOs to teach scientific methodology and the power of reproducible documentation! 🧩💡

🎉 Big achievements for the Vinauger Lab! ✨

Postdoctoral Researcher Martin Dessart recently represented Virginia Tech at the Mosquito Neurobiology and neuroecology conference in Vancouver, Canada! 🇨🇦✈️

Martin delivered a 15-minute talk highlighting the cutting-edge neuroethology research happening right here in our department. Beyond presenting his work to leading international researchers, he reconnected with key collaborators including former VT researcher Dr.
Sweta Agrawal and new collaborator Dr. Florian Muijres from Wageningen University to advance upcoming publications and research partnerships. 🔬💡

A huge thank you to the VT Office of Research and Innovation for supporting our early career researchers and taking Virginia Tech science global! 📈👏
