Did you know we use photos to help us create 3D models? It's called photogrammetry!
It is when we extract 3D information from photographs. The process involves taking overlapping photographs of an object or space and converting them into digital models. We use it on a lot of our projects! This model was created for our Dig Hill 80 virtual reality experience by former student, Christian Schroeder.

Discovered in 2015, Hill 80 near the village of Wijtschate, Belgium, was set to be turned into a residential neighborhood. The lead archeologist, Simon Verdegem, and many others fought to preserve this piece of history by creating a Kickstarter campaign that led to its excavation in 2018.
Many students and faculty have gotten the chance to work on this project both digitally and physically!
