AIS, COVID, and the Future...

Good Evening everyone,

Since the announcement of the Space closing, we have been fielding emails about the future of AIS. This past Saturday, we had lengthy discussions with the AIS Staff and family. We talked about COVID, about the years and years of AIS events, meetings and gatherings, and about possible futures. It’s taken a couple days to digest, integrate, and finally arrange our thoughts and ideas about the future of AIS.

Here’s what we know:

1. COVID has put a halt to any significantly sized, in-person events for the foreseeable future.

2. Historically, Pandemics have lasted from 18-24 months, which means that we have at least a year or more to go.

3. Many of the AIS Staff have been working for a decade or more creating safe, welcoming, and fun kink community here in Columbus.

4. Sometimes the universe gives a sign - and we feel the message is to take a break. To take this time to rekindle love, connection, and re-discover ourselves.

For those reasons, we are cancelling all AIS in-person events for the remainder of 2020 and all of 2021. Once we emerge to the “New Normal,” we will re-assess what we want to do.

As we close this chapter, we will be selling most of the AIS assets and property that has been stored at the Columbus Space. There will be a “kinky garage sale” that will include all kinds of stuff… Plus AIS, Liberator, and Bonds of Steel Furniture, AIS Toys, Cleaning supplies, Tools, etc…

We will also be putting some of the Furniture up for a Zoom based “Real-time Virtual” auction. More information will be posted later this week or early next.

Thank you for your attendance, your excitement, and your energy. We look forward to a positive future and to new possibilities.
