The Rapid City Area School District will offer free Early Childhood Screenings at Jefferson School for preschool children ages three through five.

➡️ Important: If your child is five years old on or before September 1, 2025, they are Kindergarten-eligible and will not be screened. Even if parents choose to delay Kindergarten, Kindergarten-eligible children will not be screened during the 2025–2026 school year.

Screening Dates @ Jefferson School:
-January 12, 2026
-February 2, 2026

📞 Parents who live in the Rapid City Area School District may schedule an appointment by calling 605-394-1813.

These developmental screenings check a child’s language, articulation, concept development, hearing, vision, and motor skills. Parents receive information about their child’s development and ideas to help enhance growth at home.
