MVMS Parent Night Information

Dear Mountain View Middle School Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to invite you to MVMS Fall Parent Night on Thursday, October 8, from 5:00–7:30 p.m.

Parent Night is a great opportunity to come to Mountain View Middle School, visit with your student’s teachers, receive a current progress report, ask questions, and learn more about what your student is doing in their classes.

What to Expect at Middle School Parent Night
Parent Night at the middle school level looks a little different from the traditional parent-teacher conferences you may have experienced in elementary school.

In elementary school, students typically spend most of their day with one teacher, which allows for a longer individual conference. At MVMS, students have several different teachers throughout the day. Because families may want to visit with multiple teachers, conversations during Parent Night are intended to be brief check-ins so that everyone has an opportunity to meet with their student’s teachers.

During your visit, you can:

· Pick up your student’s current progress report.

· Briefly visit with each of your student’s teachers.

· Ask questions about grades, assignments, attendance, and classroom expectations.

· Learn more about what your student is currently working on in class.

· See some of the great things happening at Mountain View Middle School.

Need More Time With a Teacher?
We understand that sometimes a brief conversation is not enough. If you have a concern that requires a longer or more private discussion, we encourage you to schedule a separate conference with that teacher. Our teachers are happy to arrange a time when they can give you their full attention and discuss your student’s needs in greater detail.

Our goal for Parent Night is to provide families with an opportunity to connect with teachers, better understand how their student is doing, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

We appreciate the tremendous support our families provide to MVMS. We look forward to seeing you Thursday, October 8, anytime between 5:00 and 7:30 p.m.!

9/29/26 Parent Letter! Lots going on Friday School, MVMS Parent Night, Wrestling and Girls basketball.

Dear MVMS Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

We hope everyone is having a great week at Mountain View Middle School! Things are going well, students are settling into their routines, and the leaves are beginning to change. Fall is definitely here!

As the mornings continue to get cooler, please make sure your student brings a jacket or sweatshirt to school when needed. Students may be outside before school, during FLEX, and at lunch, so we want everyone to be prepared for the changing temperatures.

Friday School Begins This Friday – October 2
MVMS Friday School will begin Friday, October 2, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Friday School is an additional opportunity for students to receive academic support and make up missing work.

· Three general education teachers will be available to help students with homework and missing assignments.

· If your student needs to take a test or complete a specific assignment, please notify the teacher ahead of time so materials can be prepared.

· Parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from Friday School.

We hope students will take advantage of this opportunity when they need a little extra time and support.

MVMS Fall Parent Night – Thursday, October 8
We invite all MVMS parents and guardians to attend our Fall Parent Night on Thursday, October 8, from 5:00–7:30 p.m.

Parent Night is a great opportunity to visit with your student’s teachers, receive a current progress report, discuss your student’s academic progress, and see some of the great things happening at Mountain View Middle School.

We value the partnership between our families and school and hope you can join us!

MVMS Wrestling
The official MVMS wrestling season begins in October. Before the season starts, optional preseason conditioning will be held at MVMS (behind the school):

October 5, 6, and 8
4:30–5:30 p.m.

These sessions are optional and will focus primarily on running, conditioning, and helping students get into shape for the upcoming season.

MVMS Girls Basketball
Girls basketball tryouts are coming up in October and will be held in the MVMS Gym. We will provide the official tryout times as soon as they are finalized.

Students interested in participating should listen for school announcements and watch for additional information next week.

9/23/26 Parent Letter

Dear MVMS Parents and Families,
I hope everyone is doing well! It has been a fun and busy week at Mountain View Middle School. Our students have settled into the school year and are doing a great job following their daily routines and schedules. We appreciate your continued support and all you do to help your students be successful. If you have questions or concerns about your student’s classes, assignments, or progress, please feel free to email or call their teachers. Our teachers are always happy to help.
Bus Evacuation Drill – September 24
On Thursday, September 24, MVMS students will participate in a Bus Evacuation Drill. This is only a drill, but it provides an important opportunity for students to learn and practice how to safely evacuate a school bus in the event of an emergency. We will take time to review bus safety procedures with our students and discuss what they should do during an emergency. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the drill.
BHS Homecoming Week
It has been fun supporting Blackfoot High School Homecoming Week! Our students and staff have enjoyed participating in dress-up days centered around this year’s Homecoming theme.
On Thursday afternoon, the BHS Homecoming Parade is expected to come through the MVMS parking lot at approximately 2:30–2:40 p.m. Please note that this time is subject to change. We plan to take our students outside to cheer on the BHS students, teams, clubs, and Homecoming floats as they pass by MVMS.
We are excited to support BHS and be part of the Homecoming celebration!

9-15-26 - MVMS Parent Letter. We are 4 weeks into the school year.

Dear MVMS Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to be starting our fourth week of school! By now, our students are becoming more comfortable with their new schedules, teachers, and daily routines. Opening lockers, finding classrooms, and transitioning between periods are all becoming more familiar. We are proud of the growth and independence we are already seeing in our students!

Our teachers and staff are always here to help. If you or your student have questions or concerns, please feel free to email your child’s teachers or leave a phone message. Our staff will respond as soon as they are able. Communication and teamwork are important parts of helping our students succeed.

Friday School Begins October 2
We would like to let families know that Friday School will begin Friday, October 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Friday School provides students with an additional opportunity to receive academic support, complete missing work, and get caught up on assignments.

Parents and Guardians,
It has been a blast having all of our students back at Mountain View Middle School this past week! We are grateful for our students and families and appreciate you choosing MVMS. We have amazing students, and we know it is going to be a fantastic year!

Security Update: On August 18, 2026, our Superintendent shared the following information with parents and guardians
“Please be advised we are adding a ‘buzz-in’ entry to each of our schools. When installed, we are waiting on a few more components to arrive, you will be required to buzz a unit near the door and someone will ask what you are desiring. If they feel comfortable, you will be buzzed in. Sorry for a little inconvenience, but it’s worth it for some added security.”

Beginning tomorrow, September 1, 2026, Mountain View Middle School will begin using our new buzz-in entry system.

When visiting MVMS, parents, guardians, and other visitors will need to use the buzzer to contact the school secretary before being admitted into the MVMS foyer. The buzzer is located between the front double doors at the main entrance of the school.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we implement this additional security measure. The safety and security of our students and staff will always be a priority at Mountain View Middle School.

As a friendly reminder, if you need to contact your student's teacher during the school day, please call the MVMS office and we will be happy to get them a message. You may also contact teachers directly through email.
