If you are looking for something to do tomorrow Saturday August 17th we have one final free program being presented at the Headwaters Science center in Bemidji. Space is limited to 50 people - on a first come basis.

Join us this weekend for the 5th program presented through the MN ornithologists union Savaloja grant. We have one more program scheduled for August 17th.
The programs are free to all but there is a fee if you want to go on the science center exhibit floor.

Don’t forget tomorrow starts the new Facebook rule where they can use your photos. Don't forget Deadline today!!! It can be used in court cases in litigation against you. Everything you've ever posted becomes public from today Even messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. It costs nothing for a simple copy and paste, better safe than sorry. Channel 13 News talked about the change in Facebook's privacy policy. NOTE: Facebook is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tacitly allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. DO NOT SHARE. Copy and paste.
Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts. Therefore,
Hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click paste

Meet Bart the Barred Owl. He was injured in an impact with a car and suffered spine and wing injury. Barred owls are one of the few with dark eyes.

Spring is here and lots of nest building is taking place. This is a colony of cormorants and Egrets. The majority of the sounds are being made by the Cormorants. So fun to watch. What is nesting in your area.

For those who are home and unable to work right now I would like to suggest taking advantage of this opportunity to spend a little time in the great outdoors. Take a few minutes a day to sit under a tree in your backyard and just watch and listen for the sights and sounds of spring. Or, go for a walk in the park or through the woods. There are many benefits to the immune system that come from spending time outside. There is so much research on the benefits of spending time outdoors.
