Passage of NDAA 2027 is stalled, the Senate & House will create a joint Conference Committee to work out the difference so the Bill can be passed into. We don't have names of the Committee members but we are working on it.

The Kaine Amendment (Sec 365) remains in the Senate version and the Strickland Amendment remains in the House version. Both amendments could threaten the Reconciliation Memorial restoration in Arlington National Cemetery

Please call Sen. Roger F. Wicker (Chairman, Senate Armed Svs Committee) and Rep. Mike Rogers (Chairman, House Armed Svs Committee) (202-224-3121) that the woke, anti-Arlington Kaine/Strickland Amendments need to be stripped OUT of the final NDAA bill.

As you will see as you read Brenna's letter, our family is in crisis, as we rally around our son Robert and his new baby girl. This is already an expensive process and if it turns into a nasty custody fight (please help us pray that it doesn't) , could be long and very expensive.

My #4 son, Robert Lyons, lives in the mountains of Western, NC. He is 30 years old and married for the first time in Nov 2025. His wife left him a letter stating "I never loved you, I tried to, but couldn't" and abandoned him in February 2026 and left the state with no forwarding address. She was found 2 months ago, pregnant, and living 1000 miles away in a small town in the Texas Panhandle.
The baby was born 18 SEP 2026, a girl and my son wants and needs to visit his child. When he meets his wife and child they need to discuss whether marital reconciliation is possible, whether a divorce is necessary and a workable custody agreement - all hopefully amicable and in the best interest of the child. There may be voluntary or court ordered mediation, hospital costs for the birth, airfare, lodging & car rental. It all adds up and the process, esp if the courts get involved, will be long and expensive. Right now, visitation has been refused.
Money is needed so that my son will be able to fly back & forth to Texas for visitation, including any upcoming legal proceedings and costs, without losing his job.
Obviously many of the facts are left out to protect as much as possible the privacy of the parties!

Pvt. James Franklin Riley, Company H, 7th Texas Infantry. Riley, born in Georgia, enlisted on 1 October 1861 in Marshall, Texas. He became a POW in February 1862 when Fort Donelson capitulated to Federal forces, but he was soon paroled. He was placed on detached service for an extended period of time in the Trans Mississippi Department. He was captured on 22 July 1864 during the Battle of Atlanta. He was paroled for exchange in March 1865. He survived the war.

Taking a different tack today for the Update. Dixie Toon creator Kevin King did an AI photo of my Confederate ancestor, my GGGrandfather, Ganum S. Lyons, Captain John S. White's Company, the Sons of '76" Co. H 26th (O'Neal's) Alabama Infantry Regiment. Original photo for comparison was made in October 1861. Hopeful next step will be to give GGGrandaddy a voice and animate him with a timely message to his descendants.

The Amelia phenomena in Britain has shown how revolutionary a weapon AI can be in getting out our heretofore restricted message to potentially millions of our fellow countrymen. This star has a button style shank and would be pinned on the inside of the collar - several Texas field officers used this arrangement. AN ACT OF POLITICAL TERRORISM

Nearly a decade after its controversial removal from Hillsborough County’s old courthouse, a Confederate war memorial is now the subject of a criminal investigation involving a missing head.
One of the two soldier figures that comprise the 115-year-old marble monument called “Memoria in Aeterna,” which has sat in the private Brandon Family Cemetery since it was relocated from downtown Tampa in 2017, was recently vandalized and smeared with graffiti in an act of political terrorism.
The soldier’s head appears to have been sliced clean off.
“It’s not broken, it was cut off,” said Kelly McLaren, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay. “Someone went to some effort to accomplish this.”
A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was investigating but had no other information.

"Uncle Schuyler Fitzpatrick was killed in the war of 1863 in Texas,” is written in faded ink on a scrap of paper tucked into the case of this soldier portrait. Research reveals Schuyler G. Fitzpatrick, a 25-year-old trader from Missouri, joined W.P. Lane’s Texas Rangers in April 1861. The Rangers later became part of the 2nd Texas Cavalry. Fitzpatrick’s service ended in late March 1863 with his death at Pine Bluff, Ark. The exact circumstance of his demise is unclear.

NDAA 2027 THERE IS STILL TIME TO ACT - SO PLEASE GET WITH IT
Call your Republican Senator 202-224-3121 and tell them to make sure Section 356 (a) is stripped out of the NDAA 2027 before they vote on the bill.

SEC. 356. NAMING OF CERTAIN ASSETS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA.
Naming of Assets in Virginia.- Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act the Secretary of Defense shall implement the naming recommendations for assets of the Department of Defense in the Commonwealth of Virginia that were adopted by the Commission.
