Excel College

Not everyone is ready for college right out after high school, and that's perfectly okay.

That's why we're offering a different path. Gain real-world experience, develop valuable (marketable) skills, and build a foundation for your future.

Make your gap year count.

We asked our newest students why they chose Excel.

Their answers differed, but the throughline stayed the same: that there had to be more to education than just four years of classes and a piece of paper at the end.

Our students believe education is something that actually shapes who you are—your faith, your character, your future family, and what you build with your life.

That's what they came for. And it's what we're here to give.

Yes, the work in WNC is continuing. We’d like to give a BIG shout out to Divine Disaster Relief for taking care of Ms. Judy and leading the charge to get her home, and to Mercury One for faithfully providing the resources for the work to be done. We’re honored to be able to play a part in facilitating these connections and this work!

Judy lost her husband a few months before the storm took everything else.
And yet, when our team stood with her in Western North Carolina, she said what so many survivors have told our partners: "Because of Mercury One, I don't feel alone anymore."

That is the mission. Not just rebuilding homes — rebuilding the sense that someone sees you, someone cares, and someone is not going to leave until the job is done.

Judy is a survivor. And our goal is to get her into her new home by Christmas — alongside our incredible partner, The Excel College, who has worked tirelessly for the people of WNC every single step of the way.
This is what your generosity makes possible. Give at mercuryone.org.

Why we hike with our students:

In an age of hurry, we begin with slowness.

To know and be known takes time, and there's no better way to this than to walk beside someone - figuratively and literally.

So before our students dive deep into their studies, we send them on the trail where they walk together for miles, mirroring the way God walks with us.

A little bit of rain, plenty of sunshine, and a whole lot of walking. C11's adventure challenge was, dare we say, dreamy.

What better way to introduce our students to the beauty of WNC than to take them on a hiking trip to explore it?
