Bixby High School Drama and Debate

Bixby's, “THE TROUPE", had a PHENOMENAL TIME in Richmond, Virginia for the NSDA National Speech & Debate Tournament. Not only did we have an incredibly fun time, but we were incredibly successful.

Four competitors advanced top 60 in their main events (which had an average of 260~ competitors) and two competitors advanced to top thirty in their supplemental events (390~ competitors).

On top of that, we had a record number of qualifiers in the first place, all who should be incredibly proud of themselves and their hard work throughout the year.

We are so proud of this departments growth, and can't wait to see what comes next! See you next year, Bixby 💙❤️

Congratulations Spartans! We have 3 students who have advanced to the elimination rounds of the Nation’s Largest Academic Competition, the NSDA National Speech and Debate Tournament. This puts them each in the top 60 of their category. They are still competing and may go even further. They have already had to beat out hundreds just to get here.

Congratulations to Seniors, Quinton Lowry and Anna Founds and Freshman, Victoria Martin!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Little Shop of Horrors! We have been nominated in a record four categories this year: best lighting design, best stage management, best actress, and best production! Every one of you contributed to that best production nomination and should be incredibly proud of yourselves.

Congratulations to our fellow nominees. We can’t wait to be front and center on May 29th to cheer you all on too. Musical Theatre in Eastern Oklahoma is thriving!

What a weekend for “The TROUPE” at this year’s OSSAA State Speech and Debate Tournament! This record-breaking team has been putting in work all year and it has paid off with our first state sweepstakes award in many years. We had 13 students make finals and ultimately placed fourth overall. Thank you so much to the parents and alumni who gave up so much time to help judge this massive competition. Thank you to my lovely wife for being my right hand through my entire career. Thank you to the state committee for putting on an excellent tournament, and to TCC for hosting us on their beautiful campus.
