Dr. Dave McLean gave a very fascinating talk about the petroleum exploration potentials in the Guyana-Suriname and Foz do Amazonas basins. The geology in these basins is truly amazing. This also wraps up Rice AAPG student chapter events for fall 2018. More field trips, talks and special event (to be revealed soon!) will continue in spring 2019.

The AAPG student chapter presents the last lecture speaker for this semester, Dr. Dave McLean from Anadarko who will talk about deepwater exploration in Guyana-Suriname Basin and Foz do Amazonas Basin (South America) and the amazing geology there.

Thanks to the generous support from our department and Shell, Rice AAPG student chapter presents our annual field trip open to graduate students, postdocs and faculties in our department. We will have a field trip to Ouachita Fold and Thrust Belt in Arkansas from 18th to 21st of October.
