The University of Mary would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all in the community who came out to support the Carlie (Buechler) Malm 4th Annual 5K.

This memorial run was established in remembrance of a beloved OT alumna and now supports OT and PT mission scholarships. We're honored to be part of a community that shows up for one another, that gathers together, and that works toward deepening the conversation around mental health such that no one feels they have to go through it alone.

The University of Mary’s Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program has earned full seven-year accreditation, the highest level possible.

This milestone makes Mary the only institution in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana offering both accredited entry-level occupational therapy degree options: the MSOT and OTD.

Students benefit from hands-on experiences beginning in their first semester, strong career outcomes, and the opportunity to explore the profession before choosing the degree path that best fits their goals.

University of Mary students are helping uncover a world we can't see.

As part of the BioDIGS Consortium, a nationwide research initiative studying soil microbiomes through genomic sequencing, biology students have spent the past year collecting environmental DNA samples and preparing them for analysis at leading research institutions.

Now, with sequencing complete, students will help analyze the data and explore how different animal populations influence soil ecosystems.

It's a unique opportunity for students to participate in cutting-edge genomic research while contributing to a growing national effort to better understand the microscopic life beneath our feet.

At the University of Mary, students in our Communication Sciences and Disorders program are serving children, adult learners, and seniors across the Bismarck-Mandan community, gaining hands-on experience while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

From supporting early childhood literacy to helping adult English learners build confidence in communication, these experiences are shaping compassionate, highly skilled future speech-language pathologists.

Long before the University of Mary campus took shape on “Gift Hill,” the Benedictine Sisters of the Annunciation chose this place for its quiet beauty overlooking the Missouri River Valley.

Architect Marcel Breuer later described the site simply: “Even the earth is friendly here.”

Decades later, the bluffs and River valley remain part of the student experience, a environment where learning continues to be shaped by both academics and place.
